Will The Rhine model of capitalism be the preferred capitali essays

Will The Rhine model of private enterprise be the favored capitali expositions Diminish Ludlow, Director of the Center for European Policy Studies once said We are all Germans.... The entire EEC is acquiring German excellence low expansion, a solid money and a decent blend of development and social government assistance (Hampden-Turner and Trompenaars 201). In spite of the fact that the European Union has changed since Ludlow talked about the European appropriation of the German social financial framework, Germany stays to be the most significant part of the European Union. After the Second World War that demolished the European economies, the Rhine model had rule over Europe. Despite the fact that they had solid control, the Rhine model is presently battling and is losing hold on the European economy. Then again, the Anglo-Saxon model of free enterprise is making up for lost time and is ahead in regions, for example, investor esteem and corporate administration, also data innovation (Hunt). These days the European Union is separated in two fragments of both Rh ine model and Anglo-Saxon private enterprise, yet in the end the Rhine model will be acknowledged as the favored free enterprise framework in the European Union over the Anglo-Saxon model. The other major free enterprise framework is the Anglo-Saxon that has its underlying foundations in the British economy. In both the United States and the United Kingdom Anglo-Saxon free enterprise, which is likewise referred to in the United States as the Anglo-American model, is the main type of private enterprise. Madsen Pirie contends that the Anglo-Saxon model free enterprise depends on two fundamental philosophical standards. The first is the ill-disposed standard. It fundamentally implies that there is a serious market. Pirie states the market is a front line wherein ritualized battle happens. There is a consistent fight for incomparability in the market, where everybody is all alone. The subsequent guideline is the developmental standard. What's more, the hypothesis says that change isn't best practiced by unexpected and rough interruptions which oust the state of affairs... <!

Two Ends of the Pen Happens When a Great Author Blogs

Two Ends of the Pen Happens When a Great Author Blogs The author of the Two Ends of the Pen blog is Debra L. Martin. She is the co-author of several fantasy and science fiction novels alongside her brother, David W. Small. Their authorship deals with dystopian future in The Path trilogy; what I would call vampire romance fiction in the Silver Cross and Silver Double Cross (still forthcoming); and their newest release, The Witchs Curse â€" a trilogy set to be completed in late 2018 or early 2019. Looking further into the author, we discover she writes romance under the pen name Debra Elizabeth, and is an extensive reviewer of self-published and indie-published novels. Also readily apparent is her affiliation with the Xpresso and GoddessFish book tours. When a new author is looking to get the word out on their novel, Debra L. Martins blog is involved in promoting the new work and making sure her readers get the first sneak peek.ContentDebras blog usually deals with material directly relevant to readers looking for a rarer read. A recent p ost on April 19, 2018 promotes an author named James Moushon, who is self-published, but whose story of a bomb plot and CIA investigation in Southern California will appeal to the readers of Robert Ludlum and other authors in the spy thriller genre. Her other posts, for the most part, follow a similar format. She finds a book, and gives her readers some quick insight into why they might like it. This shines when the author is interviewed directly. In one post with author Arthur J Gonzalez, Two Ends of the Pen gives us some interesting insight into the authors writing process and marketing strategy. This sort of inside scoop is what makes Two Ends of the Pen worthwhile â€" advice, straight from the authors mouth. On lighter days, Debra Martin blogs about topics meant to inspire the reader, or bring some interesting historical moment to their notice. Usually, these posts are made in addition to her weekly posts, and the one which I lingered on was her description of Patriots Day, which breaks down the commemoration of the battles at Lexington and Concord during the American Revolution. Posted to her blog is a short description for her readers who are not native to Massachusetts, and some reenactment pictures which could serve as a great jumping off point, or writing prompt, for authors and writers browsing her site.Debra blogs frequently. In the month of March alone, she made twenty-five posts. These were broken down across three major categories: reviews, excerpts, and interviews. What should really appeal to her viewers is the quantity of titles covered. With so many excerpts and interviews to choose from, and of such independent talent, it is easy to find an appealing novel even for those who normally veer quite mainstream in their reading tastes. I am especially fond of the excerpts, which make it quite easy to gauge ones interest in the novel, before committing to buying. Of course, each of these posts provide links to the Amazon and Smashwords pages for eac h novel, and occasionally include special sales, giveaways, or discount prices for those who purchase the book through Two Ends of the Pen.ReviewsUpon discovering Two Ends of the Pen, there are two types of people. There are those who immediately start scrolling through interviews and looking at what each independent author has to offer, and there are those who immediately think, how do I have my novel promoted like this? Debra reviews a lot of novels. Though her reviews are sometimes closed for submissions, she can be contacted any time via her e-mail, posted on her blog review policy. If you do happen to land her as a reviewer, she boasts some serious credentials. Debra Martin reviews for Goldberg McDuffle Communications, Knox Publishing, Angry Robot Publishing and FUZE Publishing, as well as a variety of other sources. She states that she gives a fair and honest review, but her reviews tend to rest on the high end of the scale, and she is clearly bias toward four and five-star rat ings on Amazon and Goodreads. Still, she does not receive compensation for her reviews, so she is able to speak her mind. She often gives details about plot, character progression, and readability in her reviews.InterviewsDebra L. Martin is an accomplished author and a whiz at marketing her material. She knows the interviewing world inside and out, and has made her presence known across the blogosphere. One interview she gave, which stands out, was for the blog Up Around the Corner on April 24, 2014. This hidden gem gives a bit of insight into how Debra writes with a co-author, and how co-authoring a work requires a writer to leave their ego at the door. She gives some good writerly advice, such as taking a break after finishing a novel, before hitting the editing grindstone; and on the importance of proper outlining (especially when working with a partner).Besides giving interviews, Debra L. Martin also interviews authors looking to make a name for themselves in the self-publishing world. Though she is currently not accepting review submissions, she is open to author interviews and can be contacted directly via her e-mail, or via her Facebook page. The Real MeatAll in all, Debras blog doesnt stand out in the blogosphere. It is one of thousands of blogs which promote authors and independent publishers. What does stand out is Debra herself. She has years upon years of experience, and she takes the time to collect resources useful to writers and authors. Near the bottom of her blog are four important sections:Author Panel DiscussionsPopular Guest PostsWorld of Symbols by Michelle SnyderRebecca Writes AboutEach of these sections of the blog contains deep dives on diverse topics related to writing and authorship, but Ill give a short synopsis of each here.Author Panel DiscussionsThese are awesome. In this short series (15 posts), Two Ends of the Pen asks a panel of authors for their opinions on questions ranging from whats your favorite part of writing a novel?? to plot or character â€" what comes first? These short posts give great insight into the opinion of multiple authors, often offering contrasting and complimentary advice on how to get the most out of your writing. This discussion offers a depth of field, and the clarity which that provides. By measuring the words of each author against the others, a reader can potentially gain a much deeper understanding of the material discussed.Popular Guest PostsThe guests on Two Ends of the Pen are as accomplished as Debra herself, and they lend their authority to the writing advice offered on the blog. There are a collection of posts by Grammar Girl, a blogger who has recently blown up, and now has a larger viewership than Two Ends of the Pen, but (and no surprise here) Debra hosted her content before it was widely known. Other topics by guest posters include Holes in History, which discusses historical fiction, and how far you can push the boundaries of realism; as well as topics like Prologue o r no Prologue; and step-by-step guides to hiring a graphic artist, and getting the best from them.World of Symbols by Michelle SnyderMichelle Snyder is popular outside of Two Ends of the Pen, and so her guest spots on the blog are wonderful reads. Most of them deal with mythology and the history behind common symbols. She details the origins of ?a green thumb? in one post and delves into the history of the zodiac signs in another. All of these are excellent reads. I can highly recommend The Truth About Midas, which was one of her first posts on the site.Rebecca Writes AboutFinally, Rebecca Writes About is a frequent contributor to Two Ends of the Pen, and famous in its own right among those in the know on the blogosphere. Her content is always awesome and should hit home with a number of authors and writers. Some posts to check out are her deep-dives on: traditional vs. indie publishing, working with a freelance editor, memorable characters, and writing with co-authors.ConclusionDeb ra L. Martin is, and will continue to be, an independent author and a capable reviewer. If you are hoping to write, edit, or promote a novel, then starting at Two Ends of the Pen will place you in good company.

When to Use a Bug Bomb to Control Pests

Bug bombs—also known as total release foggers or insect foggers—use an aerosol propellant to fill an indoor space with chemical pesticides. These products are often marketed as all-purpose extermination tools that are easy for a homeowner to use. But is a bug bomb always the right choice when confronted with a home pest problem? Learn when to use a bug bomb—and when you shouldnt. Bug Bombs Work Best on Flying Insects Bug bombs are most effective on flying insects, such as flies or mosquitoes. They dont provide much control at all for cockroaches, ants, bed bugs, or other pests that most concern homeowners. So unless you live in the Amityville Horror house, you wont find a bug bomb to be of much help with your insect problem. Consumers are often fooled into using bug bombs for roaches and bed bugs because they believe the airborne pesticides will penetrate every crack and crevice where these insects hide. Quite the opposite is true, though. Once these hidden pests detect the chemical fog in the room, theyll retreat further into walls or other hideaways, where youll never be able to treat them effectively. Got Bed Bugs? Dont Bother With a Bug Bomb Are you battling bed bugs? Entomologists at The Ohio State University say not to bother using a bug bomb. Their 2012 study showed bug bomb products to be ineffective for treating bed bug infestations. The researchers studied three brands of insect foggers that list pyrethroids as their active ingredient. They used five different bedbug populations collected from Ohio homes as their variables and a laboratory-raised bed bug strain known as Harlan as their control. The Harlan bed bug population is known to be susceptible to pyrethroids. They conducted the experiment in a vacant office building on campus. The OSU entomologists found that the insect foggers had little adverse effect on the five bed bug populations collected from the field. In other words, the bug bombs were virtually useless on the bed bugs that are actually living in peoples homes. Just one strain of the field-collected bed bugs succumbed to the pyrethroid foggers, but that was only when those bed bugs were out in the open and directly exposed to the insecticide mist. The foggers did not kill bed bugs that were hiding, even when they were only protected by a thin layer of cloth. In fact, even the Harlan strain—bed bugs that are known to be susceptible to pyrethroids—survived when they could take shelter under a piece of cloth. The bottom line is this: If you have bed bugs, save your money for a professional exterminator, and dont waste your time using bug bombs. Using ineffective pesticides inappropriately only contributes to pesticide resistance, and it wont solve your problem. Bug Bombs Can Be Hazardous Regardless of the targeted pest, a bug bomb should really be a pesticide of last resort, anyway. First of all, the aerosol propellants used in bug bombs are highly flammable and pose a serious risk of fire or explosion if the product is used improperly. Second, do you really want to coat every surface in your home with toxic pesticides? When you use a bug bomb, a chemical cocktail rains down on your counters, furniture, floors, and walls, leaving behind an oily and toxic residue. If you still feel a bug bomb is your best option for pest control, be sure to read and follow all directions on the label. Remember that when it comes to pesticide use, the label is the law!  If the bug bomb treatment doesn’t work the first time, dont try it again—its not going to work. Consult your county extension office or a pest-control professional for help. Sources Jones, Susan C., and Joshua L. Bryant. â€Å"Ineffectiveness of Over-the-Counter Total-Release Foggers Against the Bed Bug (Heteroptera: Cimicidae).†Ã‚  Journal of Economic Entomology, vol. 105, no. 3, 1 June 2012, pp. 957–963.

Teen Pregnancy A Product Of Social Pathology - 856 Words

Teen pregnancy is known as a product of social pathology: parental neglect, emotional deprivation, insecurity, poverty, ignorance, violence. Pregnancy and motherhood in adolescence have a high pejorative, both for the same young to your child if the pregnancy goes to term. The difficulties are numerous, short and long term: the teenager is fragile and becomes more fragile even at pregnancy; medical, school, family and professional prognosis is sober, like the future of the child and the mother-child relationship; They followed pregnancies too early and are a high risk factor and the young mother is unlikely to reach a stable form one day, or even get to obtain a social status of family autonomy. My Philosophy of Education Summary Free Essays

In most of today’s classrooms we the students are seated in rows of desks. We are forced to sit and listen to the teacher, be it in biology, math, English, and memorize line after line of information. We are â€Å"receptacles† to be â€Å"filled† by the teachers. We will write a custom essay sample on My Philosophy of Education Summary or any similar topic only for you Order Now We have attained â€Å"knowledge† as an absolute if we complete the course with a %100. As society is seeing today, students being given the stamp of approval aren’t really ready to enter today’s world. If you’re going to school to be a biologist, it isn’t just enough to know that water enters and exits the cell through a process called osmosis. You need to know why! You need to be able to see all of this information on a much broader scope than it has been presented to you. Students need to be taught to absorb this knowledge rather than to memorize it. The main problem of today’s educational system is that it most of the times does not teach how to think critically. I propose a system of education in which teachers are not just depositing information in students, in which students are not just passive observers in an active world and in which knowledge is not just an absolute. The first thing that needs to be done to achieve my system (philosophy) of education is to change the way teachers are teaching all together. How many times do students talking amongst themselves outside the classroom about how good their teachers are. They go to class and interact with one teacher, and are taught everything from that one teacher’s perspective. In order to give the students a much broader perspective, two or maybe even three teachers, depending on the subject, should be placed in a class room. Each teacher would then present the information to the class. The students would then have a much broader spectrum of information to learn from. I am not implying that these teachers should tag-team forcing information down the student’s throat, but take different approaches in helping them absorb the information through problem posing. The teachers are not placed in this system to stand high up on their pedestals throwing assignments at the students, but are to b e working hand in hand with them. They would be learning from the students almost as much as they would be teaching them. In an educational environment such as this one, the students should be able to stand in the teachers place and teach the teachers and their fellow students as well. The students are active participants here. They should be learning as much from their peers as their teachers, if not more. This system could create a lot more â€Å"work† for the students, but not as much of the â€Å"busy work† we receive, and tire of, today. For example, students could be asked to do reflective writings, in which they would share what they have learned in the lessons. Student lead discussions would also take up a large portion of the time in these classroom environments. What better test of one’s knowledge than being put in a position where you are required to teach your fellow student? After each session both the student and the teach will go home feeling not stuffed with information, but a new view on some things that they would ponder as they head out into the rest of their dail y routines. The basis of this system isn’t what the teachers are teaching, or what the students are learning. It is how we perceive this thing we call knowledge. In this world knowledge isn’t something tangible. It is not viewed as an absolute. Knowledge is an ongoing process that will never have a climax or an end. It is something that will continue to grow and change through the timeline of our people. Knowledge is not what the students are learning, or what the teachers are teaching. It is the process of self-discovery. A teacher could tell a student that when you mix chemical A and chemical B they make chemical C. That isn’t the knowledge. The student can then actually mix chemical A and chemical B and watch them make chemical C. That isn’t knowledge. Knowledge is that individual’s learning of how those to things interact and why when they mix they form chemical C. Knowledge is the process of education through self-discovery. This system I have shown you would change the way education is viewed in this world. If we had teachers that actually â€Å"taught†, and students that questioned the answers they were given, we’d be much better off as a whole. If we keep going the way we’re going†¦ where are all the creative minds going to be coming from in the next few years? If students continue saying that A + B = C, what are we going to do when the world poses us more complex problems that require ingenuity, creativity and drive to solve? We just need to understand that knowledge is not just some gold star, or trophy each of us can achieve, but a method of learning and understanding that our society needs t How to cite My Philosophy of Education Summary, Essay examples

Pollution Essays (457 words) - Nuclear Power, Nuclear Technology

Pollution Pollution. What is pollution? According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary pollution is ?the action of polluting esp. by environmental contamination with man-made waste.? The United States runs on power. Much of the United States' powers come from various nuclear power plants all across the country. Some power plants are getting old and are not up to date. These power plants are emitting various gasses and chemicals into the air. Transcendentalists believe that people should coexist with nature. They believe that nature is an entity of equal importance to us, and not just our supply of resources. The problem is that the gasses and other pollutants released are harming our environment. There are many solutions to this problem. Some solutions that might have been made by the transcendentalists would be to shut down nuclear power plants completely. Another solution would be to update the current problems or find better power sources. The first solution a transcendentalist would have would be to totally abolish the use of nuclear power plants. This idea is pretty basic in its nature. If all the nuclear power plants in America were shut down, there would be less cases of pollution. Though it may not seem it, the best way to deal with pollution, is with ?simplicity, simplicity, simplicity,? as Thoreau says in ?Walden.? By merely closing all the nuclear power plants in the United States there is no chance for pollution to spread. This idea is the perfect transcendental idea. If people went away from technology and escaped back to reality they would find that problems could be solved very easily. Many transcendentalists believed in ?simplicity? and the carefree life. Some transcendentalists believed in nature as our future and our offspring. Another possible transcendental solution would be to update current situation. Some transcendentalists would believe in modernizing and renovating the existing power plants so that they would be more efficient and nature friendly. Nature needs to be taken care of and so instead of totally disposing of nuclear power plants, they could be made to friendly to Mother Earth. As Emerson says in ?The Over-Soul?, ?the only prophet of that which must be, is that great nature Nature is essential to the survival of the human race. Why should society kill something that it requires? Humankind ought to learn that by killing nature it is only killing itself. Nuclear power plants should be renewed rather than destructed. Briefly, the transcendentalists would have had many solutions for the problem of nuclear pollution to the environment. Two of these solutions would have been to close the power plants or revise the current power plants to make them more energy and nature conservative. These two solutions would work best with the problem. English Essays

Greensboro Sit Ins essays

Greensboro Sit Ins essays On Monday February 1, 1960, four black freshmen from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical College in Greensboro sat down at the whites-only lunch counter in Woolworths. as the students had anticipated while planning the action in their dorm rooms, they were refused service. Although they could buy pencils or toothpaste, black people were not allowed to eat in Woolworths. But the four students stayed at the counter until closing time. Word of their actions spread quickly, and the next day they returned with over 2 dozen supporters. On the third day, students occupied 63 of the 66 lunch counter seats. Scores of sympathizers overflowed Woolworths and started a sit-in down the street in S.H. Kress. They weeks events made Greensboro notional news. City officials, looking to end the protest offered to negotiate in exchange for an end to demonstrations. But white business leaders and politicians proved unwilling to change the racial status quo, and the sit-ins resumed on April 1. In re sponse to the arrest of 45 students for trespassing and outraged African American community organized an economic boycott of targeted stores. The boycott cut deeply into merchants profits, and Greensboros leaders reluctantly acceded. On July 25, 1960, the first African American ate a meal at Woolworths. During the next 18 months 70,000 people- most of them black students, a few of them white allies-participated in sit-ins against segregation in dozens of communities. More than 3,000 were arrested. African Americans had discovered a new form of direct action protest, dignified and powerful, which white people could not ignore. The sit-in movement also transformed participants self-image, empowering them psychologically and emotionally. Franklin McCain, one of the original four Greensboro students, later recalled a great feeling of soul cleansing. ...

As the low-fare leader, Southwest's average ticket price was $119.16 in 2008, up from $106.60 in 2007 compared to an average price of $139.40 in 2008 at its closest competitor, Jet Blue. The Southwest Airlines has a focused strategy, it has defined target market and does not scramble its efforts to gain benefits from all over. Instead, it has selected a niche segment, to cater their needs better. Target market - the market that the company focuses are the low cost and value conscious travellers, with no frills but a comfy journey. It focuses on customers that have to travel short haul, these include passengers that travel for their business, are time conscious as well and also include residential customers that prefer travelling for vacations and seeking best value for their spending. Product offering - With focused target market, Southwest has a differentiated product (service) offering, it describes its service offering as short haul, low fare, high frequency, and a point to point carrier in the United States' airline industry. The informal and casual but dignified journey experience is the whole package. It does not provide meals, a pack of peanuts would do, there are no assigned places, no transfer of luggage and no class differentiation either, in form of first class or the business class etc. Whilst the average cost of a meal serve per passenger in the airlines industry is approximately $5, the cost for Southwest airlines is around 20 cents (Rose, 1999)3. Pricing structure - since Southwest Airlines distinguishes itself as the low fare

Proposal - Assignment Example The market has become so dynamic and requires every player to change tact and not stick with some of the old ways. We seriously need to rethink our policy on publicity matters. We will need to have a public relations department headed by a professional and given adequate staffing to help with selling the company brand. There is need for an all-out campaign aimed at improving the image of the company and giving it a more modern touch. We should realize that we have not done better than hold onto the clientele base we had more than 10 years ago when some of our competitors had either not emerged or were still very young in the industry. Younger generations do not identify with our brand. Our publicity approach should contain a mix of the social media and radio/TV adverts which both the old and young generations can identify with. We don’t want to continue losing clients instead of retaining and adding more, because that is known to be the surest route to collapse. There is need to set aside physical and monetary machinery to implement the publicity agenda. It is going to cost us quite some money as we start on it, but continued publicity measures will be less costly. Any amount of resources that will be spent in the pursuit of lost glory, it will be worth it. We are never going to regret having spent enormous sums of money towards improving the company’s brand it is the only way to expand our customer base beyond what we have currently. Let us strive not to succumb to competition, but learn to live with it and be able to handle its dynamics. We will need to work as a team to be able to achieve this. We have to walk together to deliver the best brand possible. It will require sacrifice on the part of each and every one of us, but this will take immense support of the company’s top management. All we will ask of the management is an enabling environment for

Assessment Issue Rubrics Essay -- Teaching Education

Assessment Issue Rubrics This article takes on a bit of a different perspective when it comes to the issue of using rubrics as a tool of assessment. When the topic of rubrics has come up in the professional life of this writer, it has been followed with a negative connotation. This article speaks positively of the use of rubrics. The writer of the article Heidi Andrade uses rubrics not only to justify students’ grades, but also to assist the students in properly completing an assignment. What the author of the articles says makes a lot of sense. A rubric shows a student exactly what is needed to obtain a high score on any given assignment. A good rubric will effectively do this task. The rubric can also serve as a reminder to a student that might be having difficulty recalling an item for an exam or for a paper. The author refers to rubrics as Instructional Rubrics. According to the author; An Instructional Rubric is usually a one- or two-page document that describes varying levels of quality, from excellent to poor, for a specific assignment. It is usually used with relatively complex assignment, such as a long-term project, an essay, or a research paper. When an Instructional Rubric is used, a student is now given the knowledge of what is expected from them, all to often this does not occur. Sometimes educators, without meaning to do harm, just expect the student to know how to do a task without directions. This is almost certainly settin...

Business Environment Essay

Introduction Analyze the relevant factors in the business environment of this company. If you don’t find information in the article on some of the facets of the business environment, feel free to speculate or to use other sources. For each trend, explain if it represents an opportunity or a threat. Business environment comprises of external and internal factors that influence the performance of the company. The case of Ahava reveals that its performance, successes and challenges faced by the company can be traced to the nature of environment, both internal and external, where the company operates. To start with the internal environment, it is apparent that the company’s success is mainly because of the internal forces or factors. The first internal factor is the good organizational or corporate culture as evidenced by high entrepreneurial spirit of the founders. It is because of this spirit that the company was founded. The case shows that Ahava was founded when Ziva Gilad and other partners noticed female tourists bottling mud to take home and opted to start a business of selling the same mud but in processed form to tourists (Lev-Ram, 2009). Organizational or corporate factor is a source of opportunity to the business. Other internal factors include proper management, and innovation and invention. All these factors offer opportunity to the company. Apart from the internal environment, there are many external factors that influence the performance of the company. The first external factor is the political factors. The case reveals that the company is under the threat of political forces such as Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The case reveals that most of the countries in Europe have even started sanctioning the products from the Israel. Another external factor that influences the performance of the Ahava is the ready market. The case reveals that the cosmetic products produced by the company have huge ready market, both locally and internationally. This is evidence by the assertion made by Iva Litovsky that â€Å"Thousands of tourists come to the Dead Sea for the spas and the treatments† (Lev-Ram, 2009). This is an opportunity to the company. Another external factor constituting the external environment that influences the performance of the Ahava Company is the minimal competition. The case reveals that Ahava has competitive advantage over its competitors in many respects such as acquisition of raw materials, advertising and even the sales stalls. Explain the strategy of the firm, in terms of targeting and positioning. The case reveals that the company has good targeting and positioning strategy. Right from the time it was founded, the case reveals that the company has been having good targeting strategy. In fact what compel the founders to venture into the business is the ready market provided by thousands of tourists who come to the Dead Sea for the spas and the treatments (Lev-Ram, 2009).   The case also reveals that the company is uniquely positioned to capitalize on the area’s natural resources and translate them into an export product. Explain how the targeting and positioning for this firm’s products are reflected in the marketing mix. Marketing mix is summarized by 4 ps. The 4Ps are represented by product, place, price and promotion. The targeting and positioning are reflected by two Ps of the marketing mix, the place and promotion. Concerning the place, the case reveals that the company was positioned in a place where the market is high. Dead Sea is the most suitable place through which the company could sell its products because thousands of tourists could come for the spas and the treatments (Lev-Ram, 2009). In addition, the company is expanding its place to international level. The case shows that the company has expanded its market to America and Europe. As far as promotion is concerned, the case reveals that the company has put in place many measures to market its products both locally and internationally. This is evidenced by the fact that since 2000s, the Ahava started to pour the necessary resources into marketing, advertising and branding abroad (Lev-Ram, 2009). References Lev-Ram, M. (2009). Turning Dead Sea mud into money; Transcending politics and ecology, an Israeli cosmetics firm goes global.   CNN. Last Updated: December 10, 2009: 9:51 AM ET

Rachel, who is supposedly human, has an ancient hairdo and long skirt like again from the 1940’s. The replicants wear totally different clothes; they wear futuristic, avant-garde, artificial fabrics. They mostly have unconditional designs like leather and PVC. Priss represents the future replacing the old, as she can be seen wearing a punk style short skirt and tights. Roy wears a futuristic long coat made of leather. All Zora wears is breast plates, short pants, big bondage boots and is covered with a plastic bag. This is totally unlike the fashion in our present time, although it might be something of the future. There is plenty of light used during Blade Runner, with a combination of natural light and back lighting. There are no shadows, Scott only uses light available this is obscure and creates a mystery kind of atmosphere and suspense. It is like stories from the 1940’s and 50’s. School Violence Essay - 1473 Words

Parents send their kids off to school everyday hoping that their children will make it home. The school system today is not what it was like fifty years ago, teachers would disaplin students for talking too much or chewing gum, but today teachers have to wonder if they are going to get shot for giving a kid a bad grade. Now that might be a little exaerated but the safety of everyone in a school is not as comforting as it once was. The trend of school violence began a few years ago and then rapidly increased in almost in a copycat pattern. The most common school security measure is the monitoring of students when they move through the hallways and in places where they congregate, such as restrooms and the cafeteria. School staff members have been served as monitors, but increasingly schools are hiring security guards to patrol the building and to provide security at events. COMMUNICATION AS AN IMPORTANT SOFT SKILL IN LANGUAGE TEACHING Mrs. N. Mahalakshmi D. We will write a custom essay sample on Teaching Competency of English Language Teachers or any similar topic only for you Order Now T. Ed. , M. A. , M. Ed. , NET. , PGDACE. Research Scholar Department of Education Annamalai University ————————————————- prusothmaha@gmail. com Abstract ————————————————- English is being taught as a second language in our Indian schools. As it is our national language, much importance is given to this language in our education system. The language teachers are expected to be more competent to develop the basic skills of the language so as to develop the communicative competence of the learners. Now-a-days, soft skills are considered as another important aspect of the teachers for efficient teaching. Regarding the soft skills, communication skill is the most important one that is needed by the language teachers to optimize the learning experience of the students. This paper tries to reveal the need of Effective Communication Skill as one of the important soft skill for the language teachers. The concept of soft skills Soft skills can be said to incorporate all aspects of generic skills that include the cognitive elements associated with non-academic skills. Soft skills are identified to be the most critical skills in the current global education and the era of technology. The reorientation of education for sustainability also relates the importance of these soft skills. Soft skills in Education Vast research and expert opinions have been sought in the effort to determine the specific soft skills to be implemented and used in higher institutions of learning. Based on the research findings obtained, seven soft skills have been identified and chosen to be implemented in higher education as: * Communicative skills * Thinking skills and problem solving skills * Team work force Life-long learning and information management * Entrepreneur skill * Ethics, moral and professionalism and * Leadership skill The important soft skill needed for the language teacher Communication is as important aspect of language teaching. Effective communication skills are required for effective language teaching. Teachers of English are expected to have good comman d over the language and possess excellent communication skills. Communication skills include – using the target language effectively, the way of speaking, body language and facial expressions, pitch and tone of voice and interpersonal skills. It is possible that they have some presuppositions about communication and communication skills which are considered to be one major factor in becoming an effective teacher. According to Dettmer, Thurston, and Dyck (1996), West and Cannon (1988), and Carl Rogers (1962) communication is among the most important skills for educators to possess. The role of communication is emphasized also by Lunenburg Ornstein (1996, p. 176) as: â€Å"Communication is the lifeblood of the school; it is a process that links the individual, the group, and the organization†. A gap in meaning between the intended and the received message can cause problems in the outcome of even the best teaching decision. Poor listening skills, ambiguous use of verbal and nonverbal language, poor semantics, and differing values are all items that can distort a message. To become effective communicators, educators must be aware of these potential problems and consciously work to eliminate them from their classroom interactions. They must also become knowledgeable about the importance of language in the learning process which gives a vital role to language teachers. Body language of the teacher In the communication skill, the body language and the facial expression of the teacher is of much importance which arrests students’ participation. The ‘presence’ that a teacher has in the classroom is crucial in determining ‘how much’ learning takes place and ‘how well’ learning takes place. A tension free atmosphere is extremely important in language learning classroom. More than what behaviour reveals, it is the non-verbal behaviour that is of significance. Self respect, confident behaviour and tone and eye contact are some positive indicators. Some of the ways in which body language can improve the desired atmosphere within the class are: * Keeping eye contact with the student you are talking to, and with every student in the class; * Standing ‘tall’ and walking in with head held high, instead of shuffling in, head bowed; * Having a calm, relaxed face – smiling and laughing easily; * Using facial expressions that show you are listening and responding to what the student is saying; * Smiling and nodding when a student is saying something; Linguistic competence versus Communicative competence Language is a tool of communication. One can communicate ideas, thoughts, feelings, opinions, attitudes, information and even misinformation through language. Different people express the same idea in different words. Language is a tool serving four main functions. These important functions are important for effective communication in the language classroom. The important functions of the language are: * Social function * Informative function * Expressive function * Directive function Keeping in mind these four important functions of language, let’s examine if our students are effective communicators in English. Most of our graduates are good at writing beautiful and very literary answers to questions on Shakespeare, Wordsworth and other great writers. However, their literary competence isn’t enough for them to be able to communicate effectively and efficiently in everyday situations. The ability to communicate requires us to use language to perform interpersonal functions such as starting a conversation, joining and leaving a conversation, making the hearer feel comfortable, giving options, and so on. Mere linguistic competence isn’t sufficient. Of course, there’s no denying the value of linguistic mastery, which is the basis for communicative competence. Without words and grammar patterns, one can’t think of building communicative competence. However, rules of use are more essential than rules of grammar. Many graduates don’t know how to introduce themselves and how to introduce others; they don’t know how to ask for information politely, how to disagree tactfully, how to offer suggestions, etc. This is one very significant aspect that we need to pay attention to. Secondly, their English is bookish. They don’t know that choice of syntax and vocabulary depends on the topic, the occasion, and the relationship between the speaker and the listener. It’s important to know what to say, when, to whom and how. Thirdly, the students need to be told that the vocabulary and syntax of spoken English are different from vocabulary and grammar of written English. They seem to be unaware of the fact that the words and grammar of spoken English are simpler than those of written English. As a result, they don’t use contracted forms and question tags while conversing and their English sounds bookish. Developing the communication skills of the learners In language teaching developing the skill of listening, speaking, reading and writing  skills should be given importance. These language skills are the foundation of communication skills. A good communicator is a keen and interested listener. Even a good listener cannot be an effective speaker. In order to be a good speaker, one has to master the accent, the rhythm and the intonation of the English language. Also one has to mind the tone of voice and make an effective use of facial expressions, gestures, eye contact, and posture. An excellent communicator uses verbal and non-verbal language to achieve the best effect. In order to develop good communication skills of the students, the language teacher need to * develop the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills * to be able to use language to perform various functions * master the rhythm, accent and intonation of the language * understand the differences between spoken and written language * remember the difference between meanings and messages Conclusion To remedy this situation we need to connect literature teaching with life outside. In language teaching, the academic world and the real world should not stand apart as islands. From the standpoint of the learner, the great waste in the school comes from the learner’s inability to utilize the experiences he gets outside the school. To fill up this gap, the communication skill should be given importance in language teaching. Developing communication skills of the learners requires the efficiency of language teachers. So, the communication skill should be given primary importance both at the pre-service and in-service level of the language teaching. Implementation Enterprise Wireless Network -Myassignmenthelp.Com

Question: Discuss About The Implementation Enterprise Wireless Network? Answer: Introduction Network design in various organizations have reported serious cases of security breaches that have been emanating from network designers, organizational network security personnel, employees of the operations, stakeholders and external entities. In regard to network security lapses, concern has been raised on the need to come up with strategies to tame unethical professional practices. To make network security field more professional, various ethical practices can be followed when designing and implementing enterprise network. Such practices would help to govern the nature of the network to be set up, control behavior of network security guys while on duty and define required operational standards either nationally or internationally. Ethical implications in design and implementation of secure network All professionals are guided by ethical practices that govern how activities should be done in an organization. Similarly, professionals in IT network design should governed by ethical practices that hold them responsible for any activity in their line of executing duties. Discharging duties and responsibilities with diligence and honest Security personnel should be able to perform all duties with due diligence and highest standards of honesty. All teams involved in network design are required to follow specific organizational modalities of operations while executing their duties with openness. In this regard, when network designers or organizational IT security team finds some of the proposals made by the organization unfit to be implemented in organizational operations, they should be free to raise their concern [11]. Such an instance helps to clear any doubt if necessary recommendations made by various security teams were not implemented due to organizational failure. While the security team makes their network proposals, they are to be guided by motives of securing organizational operational data. They should demonstrate why it is important, outline the actual price to be involved and how such measures would be of great importance to the organization [2]. All recommendations and other issues raised should be docu mented to make them valid and tangible when needed. Documentation would serve as proof of genuine recommendations made and were either implemented or rejected on some basis such unavailability of enough funds. Performing duties within the law and in a professional manner Network security personnel should run their activities as prescribed in the laws governing the field and specific organizational terms of agreement. It is recommended that, network designers propose up to date and secure network and monitor its implementation. While designing organizational network, network designers should confine their duties with international laws, specific state laws and organizational terms of agreements. As professionals, IT security personnel should demonstrate highest level of professionalism coupled with competence in service delivery [8]. Their execution of duties should prove to the client their ability to deliver accounting to the terms of agreement and clients need but within strict conformity of the law. When designing the network, IT network security team should not create loopholes that they will come back to compromise as it has been witnessed in many organizational cases of data breach. Promote acceptable network security standards and current best practices To implement up to date and strong network, some standards must be met. When designing and implementing network security, applicable rules should be followed in order to come up with secure network. In this case, network security team should not come up with a network design that does not meet required operational threshold because enterprise client has requested it. It is commonly known that, some clients would not be willing to provide required tools and resources to set up to date network. In contrast, when network and data breach happens, all complaints are directed to the network designers and implementation team [13]. To avoid unnecessary complaints, network security team should recommend network that is within international set standards. Where clients are not willing to provide required resources to help in setting up to date network, contract should be terminated [7]. Since organizations transact with other organization, failing to meet required network threshold standards e xposes other organizational networks to threats. Uphold data confidentiality and secrecy of information encountered while on duty Network security professionals interact with organizational sensitive data that should not be exposed to external entities. Since IT network personnel must interact with such information while setting up organizational network, they should be should be held responsible in case such information is lost. Due to fear of losing information to competitors, organizations and international bodies should come up with rules that restrict IT network security teams from exposing or using such information for personal gains [3]. When working for an organization, they are bound by the laws of the specific organization and international rules of information confidentiality and secrecy. IT network security team should be aware that any information exposed to them is to help them to execute their duties diligently and honest must prevail at all times while on duty. Secure Wireless network design Organizational activities have moved online due to the need to diversify its operations. With many organizations establishing braches worldwide, communication has become quite essential and this has necessitated the need for wireless network [15]. Important to note is that, as much as wireless network is important, it has security issues which should be considered when being set up in an organization. To address wireless security issues, various aspects should be considered ranging from design of the proposed network, devices to be used in the design, the nature of security to be implemented and number of network users in order to determine the bandwidth [10]. All these network security aspect should be set geared towards maintaining required network authentication, authorization, maintaining organizational data integrity and preventing organizational data from eavesdropping while being transmitted from various terminals to central servers. The network would be operating in regard to various stages that are set out for connection. First, every device within the organizational network would be required to connect to the wireless network through Radius server authentication and its protection be strengthen throughWPA2. Device connection to the wireless will be evaluated if it is being made from general staff or administration network subnet. Connection terminal from general staff subnet would not be able to view activities from administrative subnet [17]. This would be achieved through implementation of Radius server security to subnet the network. On the other hand, administration would be able to view activities from general staff but would have no privileges to change any data. Device connection procedure should follow the given steps Search for wireless network signal while within organization Once detected, device would get required certificate to make connections Enter login required credentials to make connections to the network Device gets connected and network system records authentication logs and encrypts them Data authorization Organizational data is quite sensitive and not all users should be allowed to access such information. A certain group of users with specific operations should be granted necessary but limited operations on the data. Since most of this data is accessed online through wireless network through dump terminals, network should be segmented in to various subnets according to data access needs [5]. To delete or alter any data from organizational system, employees should be granted privileges and prove authenticity of making such changes. To perform any change o data through wireless access, network system should approve the user through use of radius passwords before gaining access. Radius server defines extend of the network in the organization because some of the networks might extend beyond organizational boundaries and get used by third parties to harm organization or perform malicious activities. Similarly, once wireless boundaries are set, access credentials is the next important that must be considered. This is usually used to define the nature of authentication to be used. After log in credentials are approved, connecting devices would be assigned one-time encryption key. Additionally, Wireless Application Protocol (WPA2) should be implemented in the security purposes. It is regarded as the modern secure means of securing organizational network due to its improved encryption standards [1]. To access the network, user should be provided with very strong password that provides authorization to the network. Authentication Wireless network should not be set free for any user due to security concerns. Both new users and existing users should prove they are genuine users of the network any time they need to do use it. In case of new users of the organizational network, their connection terminals must be verified to be true user of the network [14]. To make sure network is secure, organizational wireless network should be protected with very strong passwords and new connection terminal must be authenticated by approved organizational network administrator. To be authenticated, network user must agree and sign terms of agreements that abides any organizational network user. Once authentication to the organizational network has been approved, access to the organizational data should be limited through assigned privileges [9]. To get this done in an efficient and secure manner, the following aspects can be implemented. First, use of radius server is quite appropriate measure as it provides security to the ne twork through several aspects. In this case, radius server provides security to organizational network through use of connection certificates to approve the device that connects to the network. Once connecting device is granted connection certificate, wireless access credentials are required to access the networks and radius server authentication process ends by writing off connection logs to the network [18]. Since organizational networks are protected with secure passwords, it is important for users to be granted essential privileges. Protection may be either logical or physical. In this case, WAP2 provides logical authentication where passwords are required in order to access organizational network and sensitive data. Network integrity Wireless network should meet all required operational standards. Network operation procedures helps in determining the quality of network to be provided and how its operations should be maintained in line with organizational policies of operation [4]. To make sure wireless network integrity is upheld, specific rules of operations should be set. Through of radius server, wireless network integrity clearly defines on how to access the subject network, required parameters and the nature of the parameter to access the network and security proofs of connecting to the network. Therefore, if prescribed parameters and procedures are provided in the right manner, wireless network integrity would be met and security of the network would be guaranteed. Additionally, WPA2 protection provides rules that are to be met by organization in order to access organizational wireless network [12]. The predefined rules are usually set by manufacturer and it the responsibility of the network designer to sel ect rules that specific organization should implement. Network eavesdropping prevention Network eavesdropping on wireless network takes place mainly when data is on transmission. To prevent data eavesdropping by unauthorized users while transit, several measures should be taken by network administrators [6]. Since almost every network user and third party user would try to compromise and access data on transit. Through use of radius server, security can be provided by implementing strong authentication and authorization measures provided to help in securing organizational wireless network. By using strong passwords and certificates provided during first time access to the network, internal user would not be able to listen to data while within organizational network. Similarly, in cases where organization shares wireless network with its neighboring branches, data transmission over the network should be secured with strong keys. This marketing accessed data unusable because hackers would not have decryption key [16]. Additionally, to prevent eavesdropping, WPA2 provides data encryption mechanisms that are not simple to bypass. Implementing secure organizational wireless network It is the desire of every organization to operate on a safe environment that is free of attacker. Having implemented wireless network in organizations, network security is of paramount and should be enforced through various measures. In this case, network security has been implemented through use of Radius server and Wireless Application protocol (WPA2) [15]. Wireless Application Protocol (WPA2) WPA2 is considered to be one of the modern secure networks in current technology world. Implementing it on the organizational operations, it would guarantee security of network. The following steps would be used in setting up wireless network through use of WPA2. Before setting up of the wireless, it would be recommended to create a database of network users The database can be set up in the same machine or a different one through use of MSQL or MariaDB. Choose and set up network encryption keys to be used in securing the network Create relevant client connections of who might be using the network Client connects to the network by providing required details as the network server saves for future use Once connected, network router would be set up to provide required business integrity rules Limit connection rules to enhance business integrity of the wireless network Before sending data, it should be encrypted to make sure it is free from interruption Radius server security implementation Create database to capture users of the network Grant operational certificates to users of the network Provide required permissions to relevant network users of the network Access the network for organizational business activities Record one time log and encrypt it with secure protection key Each tie user requires access to the network, should be prompted to enter login credentials to ascertain the authenticity of the user Conclusion When designing and implementing organizational network, security should be given highest priority. Designing and implementing network should be guided by ethical principles as well as adhere to international standards. Some of the principles that should guide international network designers are; execution of duties diligently and in an honest manner. Similarly, network designers should provide required network recommendations and be guided by principle of designing current and up to date network. Finally, network security teams should uphold confidentiality and secrecy of information as required by law. During design and implementation of secure wireless network, principles of integrity, authentication, authorization and prevention of data loss through eavesdropping should be met. As all network design principles are implemented, there actualization should put in to practices both Wireless Application protocols (WPA2) and Radius server. References Bicakci, K., Tavli, B. Pepsi Corporation History and Major Problems Essay Example

Pepsi Corporation History and Major Problems Essay I. PEPSI CORPORATION HISTORY The Pepsi-Cola story began in a drugstore in New Bern, North Carolina, USA in 1896. Caleb Davis Bradham, a pharmacist, owned a drugstore named Bradham Drug Company in downtown New Bern. Like many of the drug stores at the time, Bradham’s store also housed a soda fountain. Here, Bradham offered his own soda concoctions which attracted most of the small-town folks. On August 28, 1898, Bradham invented a new recipe, blending kola nut extract, vanilla and â€Å"rare oils. This soda drink, initially known as Brad’s Drink, gathered so much popularity not only for its delicious and refreshing taste but people believed it helped them by aiding digestion and boosting their energy. Bradham likened the effect to digestion to the enzyme pepsin, even though it was not used as an ingredient. By combining the terms pepsin and cola, Bradham renamed his recipe Pepsi-Cola. Pepsi’s early growth was less significant than that of Cokes, and its real stre ngth as a competitor to Coke began after became CEO in 1950, a time when Pepsi was nearly bankrupt. Bradham was expected to liquidate the Pepsi-Cola Co. Instead, he made it his goal to beat Coke (, 2003). Pepsi spread to Canada in 1906, and the year after that, it was registered in Mexico. By 1908, Pepsi had upgraded their transportation delivery services from horse-drawn carts to automobiles. Pepsi seemed to be becoming successful in such a short time. But there is still a problem. By the time Pepsi Cola came out, Coke had already made its mark among the public and the newcomer Pepsi found it hard to find a consumer base. In the 1920’s, the company released the ad Drink Pepsi. It will satisfy you. However, despite industrious efforts, the Pepsi Company still fell into bankruptcy due to the fall of the sugar market. After seventeen years of success, Caleb Bradham lost Pepsi Cola. He had gambled on the fluctuations of sugar prices during W. W. I, believing that sugar prices would continue to rise but they fell instead leaving Caleb Bradham with an overpriced sugar inventory. Pepsi Cola went bankrupt in 1923. Loft was what Pepsi was waiting for. The company began to regain its former success. 1936 saw the formation of Pepsi Limited of London, and in 1938, the Pepsi logo was trademarked in the Soviet Union. The company sold the drink in 12 oz. bottles and launched the advertising campaign of Twice as Much for a Nickel. In 1993, Pepsi-Cola found itself in a crisis situation when a man in Tacoma, Washington claimed he had found a syringe inside a can of Diet Pepsi. Soon after the story hit the news, claims surfaced all over the country. People claimed to find objects from bullets to crack cocaine vials. Pepsi-Cola knew that the foreign objects had been inserted by people outside the company who had tampered with the product. Pepsi-Cola decided to use a defensive strategy, claiming its innocence in the matter. Proving the company’s innocence would be pivotal in protecting further damage to Pepsi-Cola’s brand name. Pepsi employed a variety of strategies to deal with the problem. PepsiCos India operations were met with substantial resistance in 2003 and again in 2006, when an environmental organization in New Delhi made the claim that, based on its research, it believed that the levels of pesticides in PepsiCo (along with those from rival Coca-Cola Company), exceeded a set of proposed safety standards on soft drink ingredients that had been developed by the Bureau of Indian Standards. PepsiCos usage of water was the subject of controversy in India in the early and mid 2000s in part because of the companys alleged impact on water usage in a country where water shortages are a perennial issue. In this setting, PepsiCo was perceived by India-based environmental organizations as a company that diverted water to manufacture a discretionary product, making it a target for critics at the time. Pepsi-Cola came to the Philippines through John Clarkin, a native of Minnesota, USA, who came with the American forces at the close of World War II. On October 16, 1946, Clarkin acquired a franchise to bottle Pepsi in the Philippines. He consequently founded the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of the Philippine Islands Ltd. and became its president and general manager. As of January 2012, 22 of PepsiCos product lines generated retail sales of more than $1 billion each, and the companys products were distributed across more than 200 countries, resulting in annual net revenues of $43. 3 billion. Based on net revenue, PepsiCo is the second largest food beverage business in the world. Within North America, PepsiCo is ranked (by net revenue) as the largest food and beverage business. II.
